I ordered the lingua burrito and my wife ordered the Quesabirrias this should come in a family order option, but any how, this was the best mexican food I have had since I was in my teens, I am 62, THE STAFF was curtious ordering online was easy, but thought I was ordering delivery, the price could be little lower but I guess if you want the best your going to pay for it, and beleive me it was worth every penny, and very large helpings of food and soup, really wasn't paying attention to the inside cause it was to go but appears to be a very clean place inside and out, sorry I am not a food picture taker so no pics of the great food,

This place was so good! It's very tiny and super unassuming but the food was amazing. Great prices and great service. I could not ask for more for Mexican food. Highly recommend!!

I very rarely review anyone. But this family deserves more pats on the back than it seems they have received. Service was excellent, food was wonderful and the price was right. We got two HUGE carne burritos, the tacos and the asada steak. Tacos are super unique tasting and absolutely delicious. Pork Papusas delicious. Burritos were giant and delicious with a side of beans that tasted and looked homemade. My husband loves carne asada but since we moved back to Colorado from living down south we have been unable to find a place that can compare to our favorite restaurant down there. He said Hidalgo's carne asada may have just beat our old favorites recipe. Absolutely loved every bite of what we ordered!

Our new favorite place to eat! Everything we have tried has been amazing! The pupusas are delicious! And the cordito and red sauce?? The best I've ever very had!! As you wrap up your meal do yourself a favor and try the tamal del elote...only place in town I've seen this treat on the menu and it's amazing!!

Wow! Small place and easy to miss, but DON'T miss it! I'm almost hesitant to say what I really think because I don't want this gem to get overrun, but they deserve the praise. We stopped in after reading the rave reviews and were so glad we did. The restaurant is small, but very authentic - the signs and menu are all in Spanish. Luckily, the staff will help you find what you want. We ordered Pozole (spicy pork & hominy soup) and a chicken quesadilla. The Pozole came in a large bowl with a side of cabbage, onion, peppers, a lime, and salsas. It was DELICIOUS! I added the veggies & the hottest red sauce. It made my eyes water, but it was soooo good. My hubby's quesadilla was huge, stretching across the whole plate - it also came with some salsas and was very tasty. I also got an order of corn tortillas - HOMEMADE! The only (minor) issue was that they had no iced tea - but the Mexican Coke was good. Looking forward to visiting again SOON!

Very friendly, good service. Food was quick and solid (I had cabeza tacos). Not great ambiance but I think they are just starting out. Interesting menu to explore. Recommended.

My wife and I were tired, and I didn't want to cook, or drive far, and I'd seen this place around the corner from me, so I looked it up online, and had good reviews. Hidalgo's will become a regular for us. The family of the owners were having their own dinner there, that's how you know it's going to be "mama's cooking" There was a pork dish that I didn't recognize, and they let us sample a bit before ordering. I had the quesobirria tacos. I've been wanting to try these for a while as it seems it's all the rage now, and I see why. The consume' was so flavorful, and not a lot of fat. The taco's themselves were amazing, and the combination had me drinking the bowl after. My wife had the pork platter with beans, rice and handmade tortillas. She said it was some of the best she'd had. The owners and family were so nice and welcoming. I will for certain be back.

Hidalgo's was a hit this morning for our new find for Mexican breakfast. My husband and I miss going to our favorite breakfast place Taquerias Arandas in Houston Heights area for those flavors of Mexico. This is not Tex-Mex , it is Yucatán! Rich sauces, the right heat and fresh home made products. The flavor and texture of the corn tortillas are like Your Grandmother would make. The rice! OMG, could be Bomba. Perfectly cooked and flavor to match with the beans. The succulent pork was juicy and not fatty. My husband claimed the Huevos Rancheros was worth returning for. There was a clean plate when he finished . I shared a Zuchinni pupusas with him and next time I want my own! I wanted the Mixiotes but these jewels must be speacial ordered. I plan to order a dozen for a dinner party. They freeze as well, also. The owners were friendly and eager to share thier hospitality and knowledge about their cuisine.

This is what "Family owned" should taste like! Slow roasted meat, generous portions, and flavors that make you want to lick your plate! It's definitely a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of place, but absolutely worth looking for.
